Remedy Entertainment has dropped a new trailer for Alan Wake 2. The horrifying trailer is a mix of live-action, CGI, and gameplay footage. Alan Wake 2 is set to release in late October. The sequel to 2010’s critically acclaimed title is one of the most anticipated titles of 2023.
Alan Wake 2 New Trailer is a Horror-Packed Affair
Mixing in-game footage, cinematics and live-action is nothing new to Remedy’s Games. They have done this before for Quantum Break and Control and it somehow works. But, with a game like Alan Wake 2, this pushes the horror elements beyond the wall.
The emotions, the sense of utter fear, and the helplessness are all captured wonderfully in the trailer. It opens with how Alan succumbs to the madness of The Dark World with no apparent way back. The trailer somehow manages to capture a sense of panic that does amazing work of making it look super immersive.
We also get a look at the new playable character Saga as she interrogates Alan, only to find out he has a double. Saga, of course, will be a vital part of Alan Wake 2, and you freely switch among the characters at will. The sequel also focuses a lot on exploration and features 2 different campaigns with 2 different worlds for both its characters.
Alan Wake 2 comes to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 27th. It was supposed to be released on October 17th but was pushed to make space for a proper release.
