As sneaker fans ourselves, we were curious as well. As a result, we’ve delved deep into adidas’ shoe catalogue to pick out what we believe to be the brand’s best sneaker collabs from some of its more recent drops.

We’ve focused on recent releases rather than an all-time selection as they tend to be more readily available than, for example, collaborations from the early 2000s.

As more and more collaborations are released throughout the year, we’ll make sure to update our selection if any new designs stand out to us as being unique, interesting to look at, and packed full of detail and design that put them in and amongst some of the best sneakers this year.

Bad Bunny x adidas Campus “Cloud White”

Bad Bunny had perhaps his best year to date in 2022 as he became the most streamed Spotify artist of the year. Things haven’t been slowing down in 2023 though, particularly when it comes to his ongoing partnership with adidas.

These Bad Bunny x adidas Campus sneakers are early contenders for one of the best sneaker drops of the year thanks to their minimalistic design that, we feel, can be paired with pretty much any outfit.

Cloud White dresses the shoes from top to bottom, plus the sneakers have been ‘bulked out’ with extra padding around the collars, doubled-up tongues, and oversized mudguards above the sole units.

References to Bad Bunny can be found on the tongues as well as the insoles alongside adidas’ classic Trefoil graphic to complete the design. All in all, we’re a big fan, so we just had to give this Bad Bunny collab some recognition.

Yu-Gi-Oh! x adidas Adi2000 “Yugi’s World”

After launching its first collaboration with adidas towards the end of 2022, Yu-Gi-Oh! quickly followed up with an Adi2000 release for 2023 inspired by one of the show’s main protagonists – Yami Yugi.

More specifically, the design makes several nods and references to the Millennium Items, with Yugi’s own Millennium Puzzle featuring front and centre.

The colour scheme also draws parallels with Yugi. Black dresses most of the shoe, but you get hints of Gold, dark Pink, and Purple as well in reference to Yugi’s overall appearance in the anime.

To top off the collab, the shoes come with a custom box complete with Millennium Item graphics and unique co-branding, plus a special edition Dark Magician card for your deck. On the whole, a great collaboration.

IVY PARK x adidas Top Ten 2000 “Magic Beige”

From the “King of Games” to a queen of the music industry in Beyoncé, this IVY PARK x adidas Top Ten 2000 collaboration is, in our opinion, nothing short of excellent.

Top Ten trainers began life as some of the best basketball shoes around in the early millennium, but this IVY PARK iteration brings a more fashion-oriented aesthetic.

The upper is made from a juxtaposition of mesh, nubuck, and suede, with the addition of a form-fitting neoprene collar and a curved heel piece helping the shoes stand out on feet.

To really stand out from the crowd though, IVY PARK has added bright Orange tones to the mid and outsoles, giving the shoes a fantastic contrast of colour and what is, in our opinion, an overall great design.

Sean Wotherspoon x adidas Orketro “Multi”

Known for his experimental designs and for being one of the most dedicated sneakerheads on the planet, Sean Wotherspoon’s adidas Orketro collaboration features an unsurprising design given his previous work.

Its colour scheme is bright and bold, but at no point does it go over the top. This is thanks to the inclusion of White and Grey to contrast the free-flowing orange and blue details.

The design is also accented by hints of Black with an almost animal-like print to add yet another design element to this ’00s-inspired silhouette.

It’s also worth mentioning these shoes feature Adiprene+ cushioning to ensure that they not only look great, but feel great to wear as well. Ultimately, this Sean Wotherspoon collab is one of the best we’ve come across.

YOUTH OF PARIS x adidas Campus 80s “White”

We’re rounding things off with this YOUTH OF PARIS x adidas Campus 80s collab, another excellent release from the two partnering brands.

This time, YOUTH OF PARIS presents a new version of the timeless Campus model, taking inspiration from street art to create a unique white and purple look that’s bound to stand out on feet.

The shoe also features a deconstructed design with a distressed upper, featuring asymmetrical stitching lines across different panels to make it almost unrecognisable as an adidas sneaker. You can just make out the iconic adidas stripes down the side though, along with the Trefoil logo on the heel.

It’s pretty much unlike any adidas shoe we’ve come across before. So, thanks to some unique innovation and design, this YOUTH OF PARIS collab earns a spot on our list.

There isn’t really a set date or time when new adidas collaborations are released.

They tend to drop seemingly at random throughout the year, which is why we’d suggest checking in on adidas’ social media from time to time, as well as its website, to keep on top of what’s in the pipeline.

There are some instances where a new collab drops at a specific time though. This may be because it ties into a holiday like, for example, Christmas, or if a design is being released for an anniversary.

By and large, though, there’s no way to predict when new releases are going to hit the shelves.
