Pulling in the Hollywood stars to promote an upcoming video game is nothing new and Mortal Kombat 1 is no exception.
WWE Superstar turned Hollywood star, Dave Bautista plays the leading role in the Mortal Kombat 1 trailer entitled ‘It’s Our Blood’. The trailer in question is also directed by Tom Kuntz with cinematography by Matthew Libatique. What’s more, this live-action trailer pays homage to the “Klassic” trailer from 1993 ‘Mortal Monday’.

“I vividly remember the original Mortal Monday commercial, especially the iconic scream,” said Bautista. “That’s what started my journey as a fan of Mortal Kombat, which continues to this day 30 years later. I’m very thrilled and honoured to be a part of the game’s legacy.”
Ed Boon of NetherRealm Studios and co-creator of Mortal Kombat added: “The original Mortal Monday commercial earmarked the beginning of our journey into making games for home gaming systems,” said. “It’s amazing to pay homage to such a memorable moment in Mortal Kombat history as we get ready to launch our newest game, Mortal Kombat 1.”
Mortal Kombat 1 will be released on 19 September 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
