Xbox is backtracking after an official social media account shared an image that hinted at Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s availability on the platform. A Father’s Day post from Xbox Brazil featured a screenshot with Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s Barrett and his adopted daughter Marlene. Since Final Fantasy 7 Remake isn’t currently available on Xbox platforms, this led some fans to question if the post was a hint at a future release. That’s unfortunately not the case, at least right now. Final Fantasy 7 Remake officially launched on April 10, 2020, on PlayStation 4, followed by a PlayStation 5 release on June 10, 2021. A PC port of the successful action RPG has since been released, too, on December 16, 2021. No Xbox version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake or its Intergrade expansion has been announced. Microsoft even went so far as to accuse Square Enix of agreeing to a PlayStation deal that forces it to exclude Xbox support for Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
