Mina the Hollower and Call of Duty join this week’s eShop roundup

Posted on by FGH Team

Wondering what to play this weekend? The Nintendo eShop is bursting with new content, from Mina the Hollower to a new mobile game. Let’s dig in!

First up is the long-awaited Mina the Hollower, the latest title from Yacht Club Games. This retro-inspired, top-down action-RPG is full of secrets to discover as you work your way through various worlds and multiple enemies. We’re writing up our review right now, so stay tuned for our thoughts.

Nintendo has also highlighted an upcoming game as part of this week’s roundup. The latest iteration of the Call of Duty series is heading to the Switch 2 this October, launching alongside other platforms. It’s great to see this type of third party support, and more details about pre-ordering will come over the next couple of months.

Meanwhile, Nintendo surprised us recently with the announcement of a new game for smart devices. Pictonico is out now, providing a series of minigames not unlike WarioWare. The twist? It uses photos from your phone. It’s a clever and fun mechanic, though it’s not free apart from a small demo. We’ll be sure to discuss it on the next episode of the Pure Nintendo Podcast on Monday, so stay tuned.

There’s plenty more on offer, from a Tetris event to new Nintendo Music. Plus, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is out on June 3. So. Much. Content! Check out the full list of new releases below, and let us know what’s on your playlist this week.

Highlights

  • Mina The Hollower – Descend into a frightful world of action-adventure as Mina, a renowned Hollower who is on a desperate mission to rescue a cursed island. Explore a vast world filled with pixel-perfect graphics, masterful gameplay, beastly bosses and infectious music. Encounter a cast of bizarre characters, search out secrets and illuminate the omnipresent darkness in this brand-new game from the developers who brought you Shovel Knight. • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 – The legendary series is making its return to a Nintendo platform with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 for the Nintendo Switch 2 system! In Campaign, players will drop into a variety of engagements — from trench warfare in Korea to high-octane chases through Paris and close-quarters combat in New York. Multiplayer will deliver grounded, precise combat where fluid movement, player choice and greater control define every engagement. In DMZ, every extraction run into contested territory forces hard choices about which objectives to pursue, what to secure, and when to get out. Featuring cross-play, cross-progression and optional Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches Oct. 23 for Nintendo Switch 2.
