NHL 27’s latest online changes follow player feedback about ping, matchmaking and team sizes with a new dedicated server location now up and running in North America East to help players in the region get lower latency across Hockey Ultimate Team, World of CHEL, Connected Franchise and Online Versus.
HUT Ranked matchmaking has been tweaked to look for opponents closer in skill while giving priority to lower-ping connections, which should help players spend less time waiting and get into more evenly matched games when possible. Ranked Online Versus matches have also moved from peer-to-peer connections to dedicated servers, aiming to keep both players in sync and make games run more reliably.
Over in EASHL 3v3 Clubs, squads will now be matched only with teams that have the same number of human players, a change that should make matchups feel fairer and give clubs fewer reasons to leave a lobby before the game starts. The team will keep an eye on match data and player feedback to see how these updates play out and make more adjustments where needed.
