Unless PS5 players want it.
Final Fantasy XVI producer Naoki Yoshida has revealed there’s currently no post-launch DLC in the works for the Square Enix RPG. In a new interview with Game Informer, he calls it a “one-off game” containing an experience to match the full price cost. Yoshida wishes to give fans “satisfaction equal to what they paid or even more than that”.
While this is the plan right now, Square Enix at least appears open to the idea of expanding the Final Fantasy XVI story either through expansions or even spin-off titles. Yoshida said: “We have no idea if people are going to fall in love with Valisthea and fall in love with Clive’s story and want to see more of the world and more of its characters. So while we always want to consider DLC or spinoffs or those types of things where you can learn more about the game, first we want to see if Valisthea and Clive are really things players around the world want to see more of and then make that decision.”
