Bethesda Softworks has officially revealed Quake 2 remastered and it is out now on all major platforms. Today’s QuakeCon brought back the enhanced version of Quake 2 nearly 25 years after the original. The news falls in line with the report we had a couple of days ago stating that the title will be announced today.
Quake 2 Remastered Out Now For All Platforms
This new version comes with some enhancements. For starters, there is 4K and ultra-wide support. In addition, enhanced models, improved enemy animations and gore, improved AI behaviors, and enhanced cinematics are also a part of the enhanced version.
You will also have access to the original mission packs: The Reckoning and Ground Zero. An expansion pack called Call of the Machine consisting of 28 campaign levels and a multiplayer deathmatch will also be included.
There is also multiplayer support (Cross-play), both online and local split-screen co-op. The PlayStation 4 and 5 versions will also allow 4-player split-screen multiplayer. Bot support for offline and online DM and TDM modes is also included.
The title is priced at $9.99 and is out today on the PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It’s also getting a Day 1 release on the game pass.
