A few years back, NBA 2K21 landed on Friday, September 4, 2020, but things lined up even closer with NBA 2K22 on Friday, September 10, 2021 and NBA 2K23 on Friday, September 9, 2022.
With that alignment the last few years, our best NBA 2K24 release date prediction has the title arriving on Friday, September 8, 2023.
When will the NBA 2K24 release date be confirmed?
At this point all we can do is speculate about the NBA 2K24 release date, but there will come a time when official confirmation arrives.
Through the last few years, 2K Sports has nestled into a standard cycle with reveals for the upcoming NBA 2K release normally scheduled for the middle of July.
As a result, we expect the first major NBA 2K24 reveals, including a confirmed release date, will land around Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
That date could shift slightly, but 2K will likely still want about the same length of time to build anticipation for NBA 2K24 leading into launch.
Those initial announcements are expected to include details about the NBA 2K24 release date, cover athletes, and which platforms it will be released on.
While NBA 2K23 kept things split with a past gen and new gen release, we could see NBA 2K24 be the first to officially call it quits on PS4 and Xbox One versions.
